Carpet Installation
Carpet is still the floor most DMV families want where they sleep, play, and watch the game — warm underfoot, quiet in a two-story house, and the most budget-friendly way to finish a big room.
Overview
Carpet Flooring Done the Right Way
Carpet is still the floor most DMV families want where they sleep, play, and watch the game — warm underfoot, quiet in a two-story house, and the most budget-friendly way to finish a big room. F&F Surface Group installs plush, textured, Berber, frieze, and pattern carpet in bedrooms, basements, stairs, and whole upper floors, stretched properly so it stays flat for years.
Why DMV Homeowners Choose Carpet Flooring
- Plush, textured, Berber, frieze, cut-and-loop and patterned styles
- Stain- and pet-resistant fibers from Shaw, Mohawk & more
- Power-stretched installs that do not ripple or buckle
- Quality cushion matched to the carpet and the room
- Stairs wrapped or waterfall-finished, with clean transitions to hard floors
Best Rooms & Uses
Our Installation Approach
We measure every room and the stairs, show you samples at home, and plan seam placement before anything is ordered so seams fall out of the traffic path. On install day we pull and haul away the old carpet and pad, check the subfloor and fix squeaks while it is open, put down new tack strip and cushion, then power-stretch the carpet wall to wall. Stairs are fitted tread by tread, and every doorway gets a matched transition to the floor next to it.
Caring For Your New Floor
Vacuum high-traffic areas a couple of times a week, blot spills right away rather than rubbing, and plan on a professional hot-water extraction every 12 to 18 months — most manufacturer warranties require it.

Testimonials
What DMV Homeowners Say
“Fred and his team refinished the original oak in our 1940s Bethesda house and it looks better than any new floor we considered. Dust-contained sanding meant we could stay home the whole time.”
“We put waterproof LVP through the whole main level and basement. The seams are invisible and it has already survived two kids and a dog. Fair price, spotless job site.”
“F&F installed wide-plank white oak across our entire first floor. The transitions and stair work are flawless — you can tell these are real craftsmen, not a subcontracted crew.”

Does the price include pad and removing my old carpet?
We quote the whole job in writing: carpet, cushion, tack strip, removal and haul-away of the old carpet and pad, furniture moving, and stairs if you have them. You see one number, not add-ons on install day.
How long does carpet installation take?
Most bedrooms and basements are done in a single day. A whole upper floor with stairs usually takes one to two days. You can walk on new carpet right away.
What carpet is best for kids and pets?
A solution-dyed nylon or a quality polyester with built-in stain protection holds up best. For dogs we usually steer people away from loop Berber, since claws can snag the loops, and toward a tight cut pile.
